2019 WSIB Premium Rates
Breaking News from the Office of the Employer Adviser
The Workplace Safety and Insurance Board (WSIB) announced today at their annual general meeting that their 
unfunded liability, which reached a high of $14.2 Billion in 2011, has been eliminated. The elimination of this financial burden on employer premiums will allow the WSIB to reduce the average employer premium effective January 1, 2019 by 29.8%.
Employer premium rates next year will be on average $1.65 per $100 of payroll according to the WSIB.
The Office of the Employer Adviser (OEA) is an independent agency of the Government of Ontario. The OEA provides free, confidential and expert worker’s compensation services to Ontario small employers.
